Choosing changing bags and tents

Measure the space for movement

Place your largest tank or sheet holder on a table and move the lid or dark slide through its full travel. Allow space to turn both hands. Compare that footprint with the bag dimensions and the height available inside a tent.

Plan how you close it

Check the cuffs, zipper arrangement and whether the frame detaches for storage. Practice your loading order with scrap film before a real roll, then place the lid, reel and opener where you can identify them by touch.

Department questions

What is the advantage of a frame?

A frame holds the roof of the tent above the working area, leaving room to handle tall tanks or wide film holders.

Which closure details should I compare?

Check how the zipper closes, where any fabric flap sits and how the wrist cuffs fit with your hands inside.

Can I estimate usable room from the outside measurements?

Use those measurements as a first check. Leave additional room for the tank height, sleeve entry and the travel of the lid or holder.
